A sprung timber sports floor is a layered system — wear surface over battens or a resilient layer over slab, with a void underneath. Water gets into that void and sits there, and running air movers across the top does nothing at all for it.

It is slow and it looks like overkill until you price the alternative. Term breaks are the opportunity
Schools and campuses empty completely and predictably. A break gives unrestricted access, no timetable to work around and the ability to run equipment continuously, and a job that would take a month around a live timetable often fits inside one.
Where a loss happens mid-term we contain and stabilise immediately, then complete the disruptive work at the next break if the space can be taken out of use safely. Fighting a school timetable for four weeks is usually more expensive and more disruptive than waiting a fortnight.

Our gym floor got wet. Can it be saved?

It does. Heritage constraints restrict what can be removed or replaced, so we dry in place more than we would elsewhere — slower, closely monitored, protecting original slate, lath, plaster and joinery. It extends the schedule and avoids creating a heritage problem on top of the water damage.
